Deep Surface was founded in London, England as the result of research examining the ever smaller living spaces in urban locations worldwide. With an average reduction in floor space of over 30% in the last 70 years our homes are literally shrinking around us. Deep Surface's mission is simple; to make our homes work harder though innovative, well designed furniture that make the most of limited space or adds space to our existing homes.

The first of our products to embody this approach is the Spacia; a self contained, push-button operation orthopaedic sleeping solution that installs into a 350mm (13.75in) section cavity allowing a permanent-use bed to be deployed in seconds, once opened it locks into position with a force of 14,000kg (30,865lbs) – the Spacia ; the only permanent sleeping solution available offering a full size, solid bed that requires no floor space when not in use.
